Sika ViscoFlow®-3110 NG

Multi purpose super-plasticizer / High range water reducer and slump retaining admixture

Sika ViscoFlow® 3110 is an improved, new generation, non-chlorinated, acrylic
copolymer superplasticizer / high-range water-reducing and slump-retaining
admixture.

ViscoFlow® 3110 combines several actions. Adsorption to the surface and
separation of fines particles by steric hindrance during the hydration process give
the following properties:
Extended workability.
  •  High water reduction (consequently high waterproofing and resistances).
  •  High fluidity (consequently easier application).
  •  High short term resistance.
  •  High waterproofing improvement.
  •  Better creeps and shrinkage behaviour.
  • Lower carbonation speed.
ViscoFlow® 3110 does not contain any chloride or other component which could
cause or increase steel corrosion. It can be used without restriction for reinforced or
prestressed concrete constructions.

Usage

SikaViscoFlow® 3110 is used for concrete in precast plants, on site and for ready
mix concrete. ViscoFlow® 3110 is used for concrete that need to be transported over
long distance or with extended application time.
ViscoFlow® 3110 is added for production of:
  •  Plastic to fluid concrete.
  •  Low W/C ratio concrete with or without silica fume.
  • Concrete with high water reduction (up to 35%) and improved strength.
  •  Concrete with air entraining

Dispensing

In the case of immediate addition in the works, we recommend that Sika ViscoFlow®-3110 is mixed in at the end of the water addition to the con- crete mixture and before other concrete additives. To obtain optimum util- isation of the liquefaction potential, we recommend a wet mixing time of at least 30 seconds with optimal mixing.Commence the fine water dosage after at least 2/3 of the wet mixing time to prevent too soft consistencies. With post-dosing on the building site, we recommend the use of the same superplasticizer as that utilised in the works.When adding to the truck mix- er, a uniform distribution of the superplasticizer in the concrete must be ensured. For this purpose, we recommend that the superplasticizer is ad- ded on the concrete. The mixing time should be 1 minute per m³, however at least 5 minutes

Recommended dosage

Recommended dosage:
◼ 0.2 to 2% of the cement weight depending on performances required.
Usual dosage: 0.4 to 1.5% of the binder weight
