SikaCeram®-205 NG Grey

HIGH PERFORMANCE, POLYMER CONTAINING, WATER RESISTANT CEMENTITIOUS TILE ADHESIVE, CLASS C2 TE

SikaCeram®-205  is a high performance, one-pack, polymer containing, water resistant, premixed tile adhesive. Consisting of cement, selected silicon / quartz mineral charges and specific additives, used as thin bed tile adhesive for permanent fixing of ceramic tiles. Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.

Usage

Shelf life

12 months minimum from production date.

Storage conditions

The product must be stored in original, unopened and undamaged sealed
packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C. Protect
from direct sunlight.

Mixing ratio

22-24% or 5.5 to 6.0 litres clean water per 25 kg bag.

Substrate temperature

Minimum 5ºC, Maximum 30ºC (Substrate).

Pot Life

Approximately 60 minutes at 30°C.

Open Time

Approximately 30 minutes at 20°C.
Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

SUBSTRATE QUALITY / PRE-TREATMENT
Concrete, mortar and masonry surfaces must be clean,
free from grease, oil and loosely adhering particles.
Suitable mechanical methods such as abrasive blast
cleaning; high pressure water jetting at sufficient pressure
(minimum 150bar) and volume; scabbling or
needle gunning. On “new” or smooth faced concrete,
surfaces as should be Sand-blasted. All surfaces must
be as true and flat as possible. Blow holes and irregularities
should be filled with suitable SikaTop / Monotop
products. Saturate absorbent concrete surfaces
thoroughly with water to achieve a surface saturated
dry (SSD) condition.

MIXING

Add about 5.5 – 6.0 litres clean cold water to a clean
suitable mixing container.
Slowly add the SikaCeram® 205 powder and mix for at
least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mix, free of
lumps is achieved. Do not mix more SikaCeram® 205
than can be used within the open time.
Do not add extra water or other ingredients after mixing!

APPLICATION

Apply SikaCeram® 205 at 3 -10 mm thickness directly
to the concrete substrate, using a notched trowel and
spread the mortar evenly over the area to be tiled.
Cover only an area that can be tiled within 15 - 20
minutes. Press tiles firmly into SikaCeram® 205 with a
twisting action to ensure optimum adhesion.
1. Use 5.5 - 6.0 litres of clean water per 25kg bag.
2. Mix well with a slow speed drill (maximum 500rpm).
3. Apply with “V”- notched trowels for small tiles.
4. Apply with square notched trowel for bigger tiles.
5. Place the tiles firmly into the fresh adhesive.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Application and mixing tools should be cleaned with
water while material is still fresh. Hardened material
can only be removed mechanically.
