Sika® Separol® W-120

VEGETAL WATER BASED MOULD RELEASE AGENT

Sika® Separol® W-120 is a ready to use, solvent and mineral oil free concrete release agent. It is an emulsion, based on biological degradable vegetal oil.

Sika® Separol® W-120 can be utilized on construction sites due to its high rain resistance as well as low photo-degradation characteristics.
Sika® Separol® W-120 has the following characteristics:
  • Low viscous
  • Excellent ‘sticking’ ability on vertical mould surfaces
  • Self leveling after spray application
  • Highly pore suppressing
  • No combustible vapor
  • No creation of resin
  • Reduced ‘dusty’ residues on the formwork
  • Safe for the operatives to handle
  • Environmentally friendly

This provides the following advantages:
  • Easy and precise separation of the formwork from the hardened concrete
  • High quality surface finish
  • No reduction of the concrete quality at the surface
  • Protection of formwork from steel corrosion and early ageing

Usage

Sika® Separol® W-120 can be applied on construction sites for use on:
  • Smooth non-absorbent formwork
  • Absorbent formwork
  • Heated formwork (up to + 70° C)
Sika® Separol® W-120 is also suitable for:
  • Textured formwork

Storage conditions

The product must be stored in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C. Protect from direct sunlight.

Sika® Separol® W-120 yields an efficiency, depending on application circumstances and used formwork, of up to ~ 140 m2/kg for non absorbent formwork (e.g. steel or plastic).
Application steps

APPLICATION

Before application, Sika® Separol® W-120 should be thoroughly stirred. Sika® Separol® W-120 is a ready to use. Do not dilute or mix with other materials!
The moulds should be dry and clean.
Any residues of rust and concrete must be removed before application.
Sika® Separol® W-120 is applied in thin layers with a fine, white dotted appearance, covering the complete surface (an additional application may be necessary in case of highly absorbent formwork).
We recommend the use of a special spray gun with an operating pressure of 3-6 bar and a flat spraying nozzle (01 F 110 i.e. 652.307 or 652.245).
Accumulations of Sika® Separol® W-120 should be avoided. Any excess should be wiped off using a cloth or sponge.
After application, an evaporation period of 20 minutes at +20°C should be observed.
Before concreting preliminary tests are recommended to optimize the procedure for each project.
